North Pines Campground in Yosemite National Park California is situated on the valley floor near the main visitor center and 2 other campgrounds (Upper Pines and Lower Pines).Combined these three campgrounds are the most popular places to camp inside Yosemite National Park and therefore the campground fills up fast with reservations and first come first served camping. North Pines is smaller and a little more private than the other two valley campgrounds and is very conveniently located to bike paths, mirror lake and happy isles. We loved every unplugged moment! It has some type of vents on the ground making much of the campsite unusable. May is a great time to stay as there were not a lot of children and the waterfalls were beautiful. If you like being in nature...meaning you prefer a long walk instead of a short drive (appx 1 mile), this is a good location that is a beatiful walk to the Half Dome Village. Site 323 is one of the few RV spots in North Pines Campground that’s long enough to accommodate our 30’ trailer. Regular rate is $26 but we paid $13 with the senior pass. Campfires are limited to 5-10pm so at least there isn't smoke all day long. The roads through the campground are narrow and tight among the trees so it would be tough to drive a large motorhome or 5th wheel through it.
